1. How can we be sure that your system of poles and monofilament lines will work?
Numerous academic studies recommend monofilament as a most effective method to prevent seagulls from landing and roosting in open areas like docks, restaurants, ponds and flat roofs. However, there is no agreement on height and spacing. Our extensive testing at the marina we run has resulted in the complete elimination of our serious seagull infestation. Our system works in the real world.

2. Do seagulls learn over time to invade the space we’ve covered with your system?
In fact the opposite happens. Seagulls seem to teach each other to avoid the protected area. It takes about a week for gulls to stop even trying to land. Over time the system is increasingly effective as seagulls find more gull-friendly places to roost and defecate.

3. How long will it take to install your system?
It takes just a few minutes to install each bracket and pole, and stringing the monofilament goes quickly as well. We designed our system so you can cover about a thousand square feet per hour.

4. Do we need any special skills or tools?
Anyone who can drill a hole or turn a screwdriver can install our system. No expensive contractor is needed. The only tools required are a knife and screwdriver.

5. Why can’t I just buy the lines and poles locally and do this myself?
You can. But we have a number of advantages over doing this from scratch.
- Our holders are strong, attractive, and available only from us. We designed and mold them ourselves to fit different types of installation, side mount, flush mount, on rafts or on grass. The high-density marine grade plastic prevents galvanic corrosion by insulating metal parts.
- Our aluminum poles, available in several colors, fit snugly into the holders, providing a sound structure for the monofilament lines.
Our monofilament is laboratory tested to be highly UV reflective, meaning gulls see them as bright blue while we humans hardly notice them at all.
- The line spacing is field tested for the best results.
Our product arrives ready to install. No need for cutting aluminum poles, fooling with the right fittings, finding and installing all the hardware needed.
- Because we are direct manufacturers, the cost to you of a system is comparable if not lower to what you’d spend to buy and assemble components on your own.
- Installation is simple, meaning labor costs are low.

6. We have a very unusual area that has been invaded by seagulls. Can your system work with situations other than the ones you describe?
We customize every system we sell to cover a wide variety of areas. We encourage you to call our Customer Service people to discuss your needs, so feel free to challenge us with new or unusual seagull problems.

7. Are there any size restrictions?
Because our system is modular we can protect miles of docks. We have the resources to do projects of just about any size or configuration including marinas, aquaculture facilities, mussel rafts, oil rigs, roof-mounted HVAC systems and reservoirs. Your backyard swimming pool or private dock is not too small a project for us.

8. Does your system injure seagulls or other birds?
No, nor does it stress them with frightening sounds, pierce them with spikes, poison them and the environment or tangle them in nets. Our system is simply uncomfortable for seagulls while other beneficial birds, such as swallows and martins, easily navigate the monofilament lines (bats do fine too, as they devour mosquitoes).

9. If I need to haul a dock or use a crane on a dock or raft can I take the system apart easily?
Our system can easily be disassembled, stored and reassembled. In fact these tasks will take less time than the initial installation. Discuss the details with us.

10. Does your system interfere with people or impede access to any part of the protected area?
No. Our lines are strung on poles that are high enough above the ground to allow unimpeded access yet low enough to make gulls so uncomfortable they will not land under them.
